Bohinj Ski Touring Race

The ski touring race will take place on and around the Soriška Planina ski area. The course consists of two loops, each finishing at the base of the ski area, where a refreshment station and a lively spectator zone will be set up.

The route features two ascents and two descents. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps, with Triglav as the highlight — and, above all, a relaxed and fun atmosphere shared with fellow ski tourers and trail runners.

Worried about complicated rules? No need. The race is designed to be straightforward in format, while still requiring basic ski touring skills and responsible decision-making in mountain terrain. Ascents are completed with skins on; at the top, skins are removed and the descent is done without skins. At the lower refreshment station, skins are put back on before heading into the next climb.

The course is not technically demanding and may be suitable for participants with basic ski touring experience. Participation is possible with ski touring skis or a splitboard.

The race is organized by an experienced team with a long track record of delivering demanding sporting events, including Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB, Ultra Trail Run Vipava Valley, and Soča Outdoor Festival, with a strong focus on safety, logistics, and high-quality execution.
