Ski Touring Workshop
TSF Bohinj workshops bring together ski touring and avalanche awareness in a practical, field-based programme set in the real terrain of the Bohinj mountains. Led by experienced IFMGA mountain guides, the focus is not on eliminating risk, but on learning how to move, decide, and adapt in winter mountain environments.
Most of the time is spent outdoors. Participants work directly in the terrain, developing their ability to observe snow conditions, choose appropriate lines, adjust pace, and move efficiently uphill and downhill, always in response to the conditions at hand. Rather than fixed scenarios, the workshop is shaped by the mountains themselves.
The programme includes a dedicated avalanche module, covering the use of transceiver, probe, and shovel, as well as rescue-organisation exercises carried out in realistic timeframes. Emphasis is placed on decision-making, communication, and judgement under changing conditions, acknowledging that serious incidents are a real part of mountain travel.
This workshop is not about guarantees. It is about understanding, experience, and responsibility, and about learning how to move through winter mountains with greater awareness and respect.
Guided ski touring tours and workshops are led by OutVentureX guides licensed by IFMGA, with a clear focus on responsible guiding, sound decision-making, and clear communication in real mountain environments. For information about workshops and guided tours: book@outventure-x.com
